The project is Konversations: An online engagement around not just the work of KasheDance explorers but of the society at large. The series will root in our CRP(3) processes of Community, Representation and Partnership. There are three central parts of Konversation that will occur over the month with a possible exploration of three areas the dancers think is essential.

KONVERSATIONS: Bridging Kommnunities
October 2021
KasheDancers Jillia Cato and Omari Marz ZeroGravity Anderson led the Bridging Kommunities Dance Project. The video training team of KasheDance produced a dance video collaborating with 3 choreographers of afro-dance, dancehall and soca - three popular urban dance forms within the diaspora. During this creative endeavor it was realized that there were distinct differences in dance creation process and kommunity - from the mode of choreographing, the execution of relaying the choreography, ways of acquiring AND securing dancers and how the dancers themselves consume the choreography. This Konversation explored these differences and how they both enhance and distinguish the many branches within the diaspora and explored ways of Bridging the Kommunities. It was also the premiere of the dance video created through BRIDGING KOMMUNITIES.
KONVERSATIONS: on Feeling Kornered
November 2021
KasheDancer Jillia Cato emerged with the idea to have a Konversation on Feeling Kornered on November 12th, 2021. As artists there’s an ebb and flow and opportunities and stagnancy, especially over the past year and a half with all the changes in living and lifestyle across the world, where we were all somewhat literally kornered at times in some form or fashion. In this Konversations series month, we explored and expressed how we realized, approached, evolved from and overcame being kornered - Our Gender and Identity Expressions, Family Dynamic changes, Physical wellness dynamics in the Arts
